5 Unique Pizza Topping Combinations

Posted on: 27 July 2020

It is easy to get into a rhythm and stick to the same pizza toppings. However, one of the great things about pizza is that there are so many different pizza topping possibilities. With pizza, the topping combinations are almost endless, which is why it is time to mix up your pizza toppings and flavors.

#1: Taco Pizza

If you love to eat tacos, bring that love to your pizza! You can create many different types of taco pizzas. The basis is ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning. Then you can add some bell peppers and even green onions to your pizza. Sprinkle some cilantro on top of your pizza as well for a clearer taco flavor.

#2: Smoked Apple Sausage Pizza

If you enjoy eating high-quality sausage, pair some smoked apple sausage with some tasty gouda cheese, which has a nice, deep flavor to it. Take the apple flavor to the next level with some apple slices and add a little thyme to really pull all the flavors together. Some grilled onions will also go well with these ingredients.

#3: Calamari Pizza

Calamari doesn't just have to be an appetizer. Take some beer-battered fried calamari and throw it on top of your next pizza. Pair it with some banana peppers for a contrast in taste and texture. To take this combination to the next level, add a little hot sauce to the base of your pizza so you have a crispy, sweet, and spicy pizza all in one.

#4: Prosciutto & Peaches

In the summer, take advantage of some sweet summer peaches. Grill the peaches up first before putting them on your pizza. Pair the grilled pizza with some thinly sliced prosciutto and add a few basil leaves to your pizza as well.

#5: Jalapeno Popper

If you love the jalapeno poppers that are usually only served at parities, create a jalapeno popper pizza. You start by cooking a few slices of bacon. Then you can make a jalapeno mixture with shallots, red chili peppers, jalapenos, and olive oil. For the base of the pizza, spread a little cream cheese, and then top the crease cheese with the jalapeno mixture and the cooked bacon for a unique and spicy flavor combination.

Take some of your favorite flavors from other foods and incorporate them into your next pizza. A custom pizza, with unique ingredients, can really entice your taste buds. Try a new flavor combination today at restaurants like Scittino's Italian Market Place.
